The specific areas we investigate currently
focus on solving the issues affecting our major research project,
delivering financial advice to people using computers. The final
goal is to develop an electronic financial advice system, which
people can use, with help from financial advisors or other assistance,
to optimise their financial decision making. By simulating the
effects of different financial decisions, we aim to give people
the insight into the choices they have available, and generate
advice that will optimise the overall happiness that money can
bring users over a lifetime. We use a sophisticated model that
takes into account people's psychological make-up to generate
advice that is uniquely tailored to an individual's preferences.
To do this we've done novel research in a number of areas.
